What are the best practices for creating a template in Brandeploy?
Introduction
A template is a ready-made structure that allows you to quickly create consistent and professional visual content.
Its main purpose is to save time: rather than starting from scratch with each new creation, the graphic structure is preserved, and only the content (text, images, videos) is modified.
- Template Organization
A template (image, carousel, or video) must be created at the correct platform level: Account OR Brand OR Project.
Account: The template is automatically accessible from all brands and all projects, except if templates have been removed from heritage.
Brand: The template is available from all projects associated with that brand.
Project: The template is available only from this specific project.
👉 Recommendation: It is recommended to create templates at the Brand level to take advantage of associated graphic settings (colors, fonts, etc.).
Access and creation

Click on Templates
Create categories to organize the templates
Click on the “+” button, then select the green Template icon

- A window will open allowing you to:
Name the template
Choose the type (image, carousel, video)
Define the format (as with a standard creation)
Creating Templates
- Format /size
For multi-format templates:
For images, carousels and videos, prefer to start with a square format (1:1), for example, 1080x1080.
This format is easier to adapt to both portrait and landscape orientations.
- Text Management
To make sure translations, batch creations or assistant creation work well:
Choose an appropriate font size to accommodate longer texts.
Use sufficiently large text areas.
Adjust text blocks to avoid overlapping.
Do not combine multiple styles within the same text block.
→ Styles are not preserved during automatic translations via Google or Deepl.
- Naming and layer organisation
Clearly name each layer
Use descriptive names to guide the user
Setup "Configuration assistant" (top right)
Select “Master” (top left)
Check “Start with assistant”
→ This allows you to directly open a simplified interface when using the template

👉 Managing Editable Elements:
Select only the layers you want to modify in “Editable layer”
Lock fixed elements to prevent accidental changes
