How to create a master for easy localisation /translation?
Best Practices for Seamless Asset Localization
To facilitate asset translation and ensure smooth localization with zero retouching, follow these key rules when creating your Master Creation.
- Text Layers and fonts
When creating a text layer, consider the following constraints:
๐ * * **Font Styles: ** ****
If a sentence contains multiple font styles (bold, italic, different colors, or font sizes), follow these guidelines:
- Whenever possible, create a separate layer for each style. This prevents formatting issues during translation.
- If separate layers are not an option, countries, will have to use the "Translate Myself" mode (see article "Translate with Myself Mode").

๐ **Line Spacing (Interlines): **
To prevent letters from overlapping when translating into languages with special characters (ร , รง, รฉ...), increase the line spacing by at least 0.1 pt compared to the original.

**
๐ Text Layer Alignement:
When stacking multiple text layers, define a maximum text width and choose whether the text should be aligned to the top or bottom.

**๐ ** **Uppercase Text: ** **
If using uppercase text, enable the Uppercase button instead of manually typing in capital letters. This ensures consistency in case formatting after translation.

- Text with colored background
If your design includes text on a colored background (e.g., a CTA button):
โ Create only one layer with your text
โ Work the text layer then add colored background, and change shape if needed (rectangle with rounded corners or a circle using the option)
This approach ensures flexibility when adapting translations.

- Text layer size
Since translated text can be longer than the original, anticipate expansion by doubling the text box size.
- Text Animation
- Ensure that each text layer has only one animation.
- If a layer has multiple animations or different styles, insert a soft line break to ensure proper display.
- Line breaks
Only add line breaks when you want translations to follow the same structure. Otherwise, allow text to flow naturally based on length and language requirements.
By following these best practices, you ensure smooth translations and effortless localization without manual adjustments! ๐
