How to properly import a PSD file into Brandeploy?

To ensure a clean and smooth import, follow these steps:

Pour garantir un import propre et efficace dans Brandeploy, voici les étapes à suivre :

  1. **Prepare your file **

Before importing, make sure your PSD is optimized. Brandeploy helps industrialize content variations, so the fewer the layers, the better.

Best practices:

  • Minimize the number of layers: for example, merge multiple background layers into a single image.

* Clean your PSD: remove any hidden or unused layers.

  • You can use Photoshop or Photopea (a free and easy online photo editor) to do this.

  1. Import the file ** **

Go to the "Creation" tab, then select "Import .psd file". Choose your file to start the import process.

🛠️ What to do if the PSD import stops or shows missing fonts?

If the import process stops, you may need to click the "Retry" button to continue.

If the platform detects missing fonts after import, a message will appear indicating which fonts are missing (e.g. "1 or 2 fonts missing" as shown in the screenshot below).

Missing font

Here’s how to resolve it:

  • Click on the first missing font listed.
  • The platform will open the font library from your setup.
  • Select the replacement font you want to use for the missing one.
  • Click "OK" to confirm.
  • Repeat this process for each missing font.

Once all missing fonts are replaced, the platform will complete the file integration.

✅ Tip: If the fonts you're selecting are frequently used, you can choose the "Set as default" option during selection. This will automatically apply the font in future imports.

Font as default

  1. What import cases are supported?

✅ A single creation in one format

✅ Multiple creations in the same size (e.g., carousel)

  • ⚠️⚠️ Multiple creations in multiple sizes: this creates multi-masters, where each size is independent. To avoid this, refer to the article

Is it possible to import a PSD file containing multiple asset formats?

⚠️ Important limitations of PSD import:
  • Smart Objects are converted into flat images.
  • Motion and GIFs are not imported and must be recreated manually.
  • Only the "Blur" layer filter is supported. Other filters need to be added after the import.
  • When a text block overlaps a background image block, the text may shift. Recommended fix: remove the background image and recreate it within the text block as a single layer.
  • SVG and JPEG masks are supported.
  • Clipping masks work unless they’re made from text.Les Smart Objects sont convertis en images simples.
