How to Manage Images and Display Settings (Fill/fit, Fit/fit, Fill/fill, and Background)?

This article or video will help you better understand how images behave in Brandeploy and how to configure them for different displays, by distinguishing between the frame and the image itself.

  1. What are the main image presets and how do they work?

There are four main presets to manage how your images are displayed:

  • Fill fit : the image will take up as much space as possible within the available size while maintaining its proportions. This is useful to ensure the image fills the space effectively without distortion.
  • Fit fit : The image keeps its proportions and scales to fit within the space. It adjusts to the container without necessarily filling it completely, while preserving its aspect ratio.
  • Fill fill : The image occupies as much space as possible, which may result in cropping. The goal is to fill the space, even if it means cutting part of the image.
  • Background : The image will cover the entire size, also with possible cropping. This preset is similar to "Fill fill" in the sense that the image covers the entire area, potentially being trimmed.

  1. What is the difference between the "frame" and the "media" of an image?

These two concepts are essential for configuring images:

  • Frame : Represents the image block or the container. It is the space allocated for the image.
  • Media : Represents the image itself or its content. It’s the visual content displayed within the frame.

  1. How do changes to frame and media settings affect the image display?

It’s important to understand the impact of adjustments:

  • When you modify the frame settings, you're changing the size of the container.
  • If you modify the media constraints within the frame, the media size can shift within its frame, and as a result, the frame itself may be affected too.

  1. What are "anchors" and how do you use them?

Anchors allow you to position the media within its frame. You can apply different anchors (top, bottom, right, left, or centered) to control how the image is aligned in its container.

  1. What does the "stretch" option do when applied to media?

The stretch option makes the media adapt and fully distort to match the defined frame. This means the image will not maintain its proportions and will be stretched or compressed to completely fill the frame.

Note:

There is a specific button in the "format" section to maintain constraints when manually resizing one of the boxes.
