# How to copy a layer while keeping synchronization?

👉 To copy a layer **with synchronization**, use the keyboard shortcut: **Ctrl + Shift + V**
This mode keeps the copied layer synchronized with the original.

## What’s the difference with a simple copy-paste ?
* **Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V**: standard copy, **without synchronization**.
* **Ctrl + C /Ctrl + Shift + V**: copy **with synchronization**, meaning any changes made to the original layer will automatically be applied to the copied one.

## When is it better to use a cross sequence?
When working on a project with **multiple sequences**, it is often more efficient to **place the layer in the cross sequence** rather than pasting it with synchronization into each sequence individually.
